India's first 3G-embedded Netbook launched



India’s first 3G-equipped netbook was jointly launched by the Olive Telecommunication (the parent company of Haier Mobil) and Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL). The new netbook features high-speed Internet access for mobile Internet connectivity and broadband.

The netbook, which is powered by 1.6GHz processor, is named as ‘Netbook X107H’. The netbook consists of a 1 GB DDR memory and a 160 GB 2.5-inch hard drive.

New X107H has Qualcomm’s QSC6085 chipset. Th chipset leverages the potentialities of Evolution-Date Optimized (EV-DO), a technology on Tata Teleservices network, which provides user with broadband connectivity.

The netbook will be obtainable with payment options at Tata Indicom stores as well as other retail outlets across the nation, as said by the Tata Teleservices.

The netbook is priced at Rs 23,999, which includes the Photon Plus device.

Tata Teleservices added that the full range of these netbooks, which includes 10 models, will be launched in a month or two. All of these will be available in the price band of Rs 4999 to Rs 39,999.
