
Land Rover, a unit of Tata Motor, launched the highly acclaimed ‘Freelander 2’ in the Indian market. The new launched vehicle has joined the group of vehicles, which were unveiled by the company in June this year, including Discovery 4, the quintessential sports tourer, the Range Rover Sport and the ultimate luxury 4x4, the Range Rover.
The new Freelander 2 has the power of 2.2 liter common rail turbo-diesel engine, which is designed to provide extra space for better crash protection, front end styling and offers up a shorter bonnet for extra cabin space. Rover`s unique terrain response system is standard on ‘Freelander 2’.
During the launch of new Freelander 2, Mr. Rhoit Suri, Head of premier car division, Tata Motors said, “We are encouraged by the response to the Land Rover vehicles in India. The Freelander 2, Land Rover’s best-selling model globally, now complements the Land Rover range in the country. As we expand our reach across various cities in India, we will continuously enhance the Land Rover product portfolio and enable more and more customers to experience the benchmark in premium offroading vehicles.”
With a starting price Rs 3.38 million, the new Freelander 2 is available in three trim levels in India- S, SE and HSE.
