
Nissan Motor has announced that it would introduce its new sports car ‘Z370’ in the Indian market by 2010.
Talking to media, Mr. G M Singh, Vice-Chairman of Hover Automotive India, said, “Nissan will launch its sports car Z370 in the Indian market and is expected to be rolled out in January 2010.”
Mr. Singh added, “Though the market for sports car in India is limited now, but we think over a period of time, the market for such cars will increase.”
In the mean time, the company is planning to launch its small car in the Indian market named as ‘Micra’. Talking about the small car, Mr. Singh told media that Micra will be launched with three variants of petrol and diesel. Moreover, it will be developed completely on new platform.
The new Micra will cost around Rs 5 lakh.
Company is all set to roll out as much as nine models by 2012.
Mr. Singh said, “Out of the nine models, five of them will be manufactured in its facility that is coming up in Chennai, while, rest of them will be Completely Built Units (CBU).”
Right now, company has two models in the Indian market, ‘Teana’ and ‘X-trail’, both costs between Rs 21 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.
